What's going on everyone?
I led a panel at Pax East this past weekend with five of my students. Here is a video of it for anyone interested in watching. Not the best audio, but it works just fine. Description below.
Teachers are at their best when they bring their passions into the classroom. Their enthusiasm can be contagious which helps foster a healthier learning environment for our students. For many teachers, this passion comes in the form of gaming. We can harness that enthusiasm and use games to help our students learn. How? Come join in on a conversation with a teacher (Zachary Hartzman - NYC high school teacher and founder of Hey Listen Games) and five of his high school students where they will recount their experiences learning with video games.
Thanks for watching,
Zack
@DaveEng there’s always next year.
Dang, I was there! Sorry I missed this panel!
Dave, thank you so much for the kind words! Definitely come back and let us know how that lesson goes!
Your panel with your students stole the show! My fiancee and I are high school teachers (our 10th year as teachers) and we both talked about how genuine and inspiring the panel was the rest of the weekend. Thank you for all the hard work you do and thank you to your students for sharing their experience! I'll be implementing my first gamification in my history class with Papers Please! next week! Thank you again!
